Location

Employees have the flexibility to work remotely or from Riple's London office, splitting their time between Riple and their academic lab as they choose.

Duration

Contracts may begin at any time after selection and typically run for one year, with the possibility of extension based on research progress and impact.

Resources

We offer a flexible research infrastructure, including dedicated AI and data science support, engineering resources, and computational tools.

Stipend

Applicants can expect to receive a competitive stipend along with travel allowances to attend scientific conferences and industry events, post approval.

Who Should Apply?

You must have either completed your current degree, or you must be on track to complete it by September 2028.
We are interested in applicants who EITHER:
- have a strong background in data, coding, mathematics, journalism, or a related field, as well as strong quantitative skills and interest in moving into AI.
- OR have a strong background in AI or machine learning as applied to product, and a strong interest in using AI and ML to tackle specific problems in news, journalism or related fields.
You should believe in our mission to automate research and reasoning, with a clear vision for how AI can power deep, structured investigation and decision making.
You must be able to work remotely and have flexibility around international time zones.
Candidates should be curious, proactive, and comfortable exploring ideas in a flexible, trust-driven environment.

How to Apply

Step-by-Step Application Process

Initial Submission:
- Resume including a list of experiences and publications.
- Application Proposal (max 2 pages): Describe a key challenge in news analysis, investigative automation, or forecasting that AI can solve. Ideal proposals will focus on misinformation detection, anomaly identification, or automated reporting. Describe the significance of your project, how AI will accelerate it, and why this work could not be done without the convergence of both.
- At least one letter of recommendation (ideally from the candidate's previous employer).
- Application submission: To apply, email your resume, recommendation letter and application proposal to hello@riple.org with the subject line "Job Application - [Your Name]", and include basic details about yourself in the email body.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview at which you will present your application proposal to representatives at Riple.

Timeline
